About the Role

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a hands-on role supporting priority product and engineering initiatives over a 9-month fixed-term contract. You will build reliable, scalable automation across API, web, mobile, and integration layers, while helping engineering teams strengthen their ownership of quality. You will have the opportunity to improve how quality is embedded into delivery, introduce reusable approaches, and explore AI-assisted engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable automated testing across API, web, mobile, and integration layers.
  • Lead quality engineering for priority initiatives, including risk assessment, test strategy, automation, and release readiness.
  • Embed automated testing, quality gates, and feedback into CI/CD pipelines to help teams release with confidence.
  • Improve automation coverage across critical customer journeys, focusing on reliability, maintainability, and stronger diagnostics.
  • Partner closely with software engineers to identify high-value quality and coverage gaps and build practical solutions.
  • Explore AI-assisted and agentic approaches to improve test design, automation, analysis, and engineering productivity.
  • Create reusable frameworks, patterns, and tooling for sustainable quality practices.
  • Coach and pair with engineers to strengthen engineering ownership of quality.
  • Communicate quality risks, trade-offs, and delivery readiness clearly with engineering and product stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in Quality Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related engineering role.
  • Strong hands-on coding and test automation capability, including experience building and maintaining API, service, and web automation.
  • Experience embedding automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and using quality gates and feedback to improve release confidence.
  • A strong understanding of modern quality engineering practices, including risk-based testing, testability, and building maintainable automation.
  • The ability to work independently across multiple engineering teams, navigate ambiguity, and apply sound judgment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to make quality risks and technical trade-offs clear.
  • Experience with mobile automation, automation frameworks at scale, observability, or production diagnostics is valuable.
  • Practical experience using generative AI, coding assistants, or agentic workflows within software engineering is welcomed.
  • Experience in fintech or another highly regulated environment is useful, but not essential.
  • A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn, and grow.
  • An aptitude for identifying and managing risks.
