About the Role
This role provides functional leadership across Workday HCM and Security, driving continuous improvement, governance, platform optimisation, and operational excellence. You will lead the design and delivery of complex enhancements, oversee security and access management, evaluate new Workday releases and capabilities, and provide trusted advice to senior stakeholders. You will ensure our people systems remain compliant, efficient, and aligned to HCF's strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the functional administration, configuration, and optimisation of Workday HCM and Security.
- Drive the discovery, analysis, design, testing, and deployment of complex system enhancements and process improvements.
- Configure and maintain business processes, workflows, security roles, calculated fields, validations, and notifications.
- Manage platform security, user access, segregation of duties, and periodic access reviews.
- Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, privacy requirements, audit obligations, and regulatory standards.
- Assess Workday releases and emerging capabilities, recommending enhancements based on business value and risk.
- Develop and maintain the Workday roadmap, aligning technology priorities with workforce and organisational objectives.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across People & Culture, Payroll, Risk, Cyber Security, and Technology.
- Prepare decision papers, risk assessments, and governance reporting for leadership forums.
- Coordinate external vendors and managed service providers to ensure high-quality delivery and knowledge transfer.
- Maintain system documentation and support capability uplift through coaching and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Significant experience supporting and configuring Workday, particularly Core HCM and Security.
- Deep understanding of Workday business processes, security architecture, and configuration best practices.
- Proven experience delivering complex end-to-end system changes, from requirements gathering through to implementation and support.
- Strong knowledge of access controls, governance, risk management, privacy requirements, and audit processes.
- Experience assessing Workday releases and translating new functionality into business outcomes.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with experience preparing recommendations and business cases.
- Experience working with external vendors, managed service providers, and specialist consultants.
- A collaborative leadership style with experience coaching and mentoring others.
- Change management experience will be highly regarded.
