About the Role

Zip is seeking a Go-to-Market Engineer to join the Business Technology Team. This role involves building AI and automation to power pipeline generation and sales motion, aiming to integrate AI into every rep's workflow and measure impact in pipeline and rep time. The position focuses on the presales motion, designing and building the technical foundation to enhance revenue team efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Build the GTM automation engine, designing scalable workflows to improve rep efficiency and accelerate pipeline generation using tools like Clay and n8n.
  • Translate sales goals into actionable projects, proposing and building solutions in partnership with sales leadership.
  • Operationalize AI and enrichment tools in collaboration with GTM Ops and Business Technology teams to enhance outbound quality and personalization.
  • Own the end-to-end process of workflows, from ideation and scoping with sales leaders to building, piloting, launching, and iterating based on adoption and impact.
  • Measure the impact of built solutions, tracking metrics such as rep time saved and pipeline influenced, and adjusting or discontinuing underperforming initiatives.
  • Innovate and experiment with new tools, integrations, and AI workflows, evaluating vendor solutions versus building in-house.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in GTM engineering, sales ops/RevOps, or business systems, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • 1-2 years in a BDR, SDR, AE, sales engineer, or equivalent role is preferred.
  • Working experience with Salesforce.
  • Hands-on experience with Clay (or similar) and Gong (or Chorus) is strongly preferred; n8n, Zapier, or other workflow orchestration tools are a plus.
  • Comfortable building with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code) and reading/debugging code and SQL.
  • Understanding of databases and structured data; data warehouse experience (e.g., Snowflake) is a plus.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new systems, apply emerging technologies to business challenges, and connect business needs to system design.
  • Demonstrated track record of practical AI and automation that positively impacted a sales team (e.g., increased pipeline, saved rep time).
  • Ability to build maintainable automations that handle edge cases and errors, with an understanding of when to use LLMs versus deterministic logic.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear thinking, concise memo writing, and executive presentation.
  • High bias for action, low ego, and an ownership mindset.
