About the Role

The Associate Director of Finance is responsible for supervising and coordinating accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely reporting. This role assists the Area Director of Finance in managing hotel income, expenses, assets, and liabilities, and oversees daily operations including payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

Responsibilities

Supervise Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cashier, and Night Audit employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance reviews.
Oversee daily accounting operations to ensure compliance with SOPs and relevant laws.
Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
Prepare financial statements and reports for management.
Assist in compiling the annual budget, forecasts, and tax reports.
Train and coordinate the implementation of financial and cash controls.
Resolve operational problems and ensure maintenance of accounting systems.
Analyze tenant, lease, and rent reports to ensure compliance with hotel contracts.
Maintain fiduciary responsibility to the company and management.
Assume responsibilities of the Director of Finance in their absence.

Requirements

A four-year college degree in accounting or equivalent education/experience.
One to two years of experience in hospitality management or hospitality accounting.
Knowledge of all functions performed by subordinate staff.
Advanced knowledge of accounting, finance, and hospitality professions.
Experiential knowledge for managing people and complex problems.
Ability to analyze information and arrive at logical conclusions.
Ability to make decisions guided by established policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively and possess supervisory skills.
Knowledge of Office Management, Bank Reconciliations, Preparation of State and Federal Reports, Training of Accounting staff, Conducting meetings, Analysis of Balance Sheet Accounts, Preparation of Journal entries, closing the books, preparing the Balance Sheet Package, and interviewing/evaluating employees.
Excellent hearing, vision, speech communication, and comprehension skills.
