About the Role
Pattern Energy is seeking a Senior Associate to assist in the daily management and operations of US assets, focusing on commercial and market understanding. This role involves coordinating with various internal departments and external parties to manage assets effectively, ensure compliance, and identify opportunities for value creation through strategic initiatives like repowers, restructurings, and M&A transactions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily management and operations of US assets, excluding ERCOT and New Mexico assets.
- Coordinate with Director of Asset Management, Regional Directors, Facility Managers, Performance Management, Energy Management, Accounting, Finance, Tax, Insurance, and other key functions.
- Assist, guide, and lead subject matter experts to manage all commercial aspects of assets.
- Ensure compliance with project agreements, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Assess strategic fit of assets and identify opportunities for value creation.
- Manage routine commercial matters with PPA counterparties and assist with complex PPA contract issues.
- Proactively identify and act on threats and opportunities for assets or proposed projects.
- Assist or lead special projects such as M&A transactions, transition of new projects, process improvement, or asset value enhancement projects.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial management and/or financial analysis.
- At least one year of experience in energy assets.
- Critical thinker with strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, understand and implement project agreements.
- Strong learning skills and the ability to independently research, understand, and implement knowledge in new areas.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work seamlessly across a wide range of disciplines within and outside the group and the company to achieve project objectives.
- Strong motivation and ability to work with little supervision or guidance.
- Ability to travel (up to 15%)
