About the Role
Mott MacDonald is seeking a driven and experienced project engineer to design and manage water and wastewater projects in the New York/New Jersey area. This role involves managing project portions, leading junior engineers, and contributing to Mott MacDonald's growth in North America.
Responsibilities
- Complete preliminary and detailed engineering design and associated documents for water and wastewater treatment, collection, and distribution projects.
- Perform preliminary engineering, including data analysis, design calculations, and option evaluation.
- Prepare planning and design documents, cost estimates, calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Conform to client and company standards for document and drawing preparation.
- Conduct internal coordination meetings and support client meetings.
- Ensure project deliverables are executed with technical accuracy, on time, and within budget.
- Ensure formal QA/QC reviews are performed for each project.
- Assist with construction phase office support, including RFI and submittal reviews, and participate in field work and construction observation.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of project experience in municipal and/or private development related to water/wastewater systems design and design review.
- Experience with treatment facilities, water and stormwater piping, sewers, sewer rehab, mechanical piping, and lift stations.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in New Jersey and/or New York.
