About the Role
The Director, Strategic Sourcing will lead strategic sourcing and supplier management initiatives across the Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment portfolio. This role will partner with departments across the organization to maximize value, strengthen supplier relationships, manage risk, and identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency. The Director will manage complex sourcing initiatives from market assessment and competitive bidding through negotiation, contracting, implementation, and ongoing supplier performance management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement organization-wide sourcing and procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Partner with Finance, Legal and business leaders to understand requirements and develop effective sourcing strategies.
- Lead supplier selection, competitive bidding, commercial evaluation, contract negotiation, implementation, and performance management.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, vendor consolidation, improved commercial terms, and increased value from supplier relationships.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, establishing performance expectations and accountability for contractual commitments.
- Analyze spend, supplier performance, financial information, and market trends to identify opportunities and inform sourcing decisions.
- Partner with Legal and business stakeholders to negotiate commercial agreements that balance cost, service, flexibility, performance, and risk.
- Establish and continuously improve sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, and contract management policies and processes.
- Track relevant market intelligence, pricing trends, and supplier developments across key spend categories.
- Partner with Finance to measure sourcing results, including negotiated savings, cost avoidance, and supplier performance.
- Support business and Partnership Sales teams, as appropriate, in evaluating supplier relationships and commercial opportunities.
Requirements
- 7-10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, vendor management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex sourcing initiatives and commercial negotiations.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience analyzing spend, supplier economics, proposals, and market data.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP), procurement, sourcing, or contract management systems.
- Strong understanding of competitive bidding, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management.
- Excellent communication and relationship-management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across an organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in sports, entertainment, hospitality, media, or another multi-business organization is preferred.
