About the Role
The Middle Office team is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of HRT’s post-trade platform, which supports the firm’s trading across many asset classes and geographies. The team designs and operates systems and processes that reconcile HRT’s trading with brokers and counterparties, and collaborates with multiple teams to research corporate actions, maintain commissions programs, and track all costs incurred by HRT’s trading. This role involves working within a tight-knit, highly productive unit, focusing on operational projects using technology to solve problems. We seek candidates with exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a can-do attitude.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and resolve daily position, trade, and cash discrepancies with external counterparties, supporting effective book management.
- Identify and implement workflow improvements in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Document complex processes to develop middle office guidelines.
- Onboard new trading into existing technology and platforms.
- Reconcile daily position, cash, and PnL breaks with internal and external parties.
- Research and process applicable corporate actions.
- Maintain and update commission structures across all markets.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant financial markets industry experience, preferably in connection with an FX trading desk.
- Working knowledge of FX products (spot, forwards, swaps, NDFs, options) and their associated trade lifecycles and settlement processes.
- Hands-on experience with FX post-trade matching, confirmation, and settlement platforms (e.g., Traiana, MarkitWire) is strongly preferred.
- Strong hands-on Python experience for data analysis, workflow automation, and operational tooling in a Linux environment.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to take ownership of work and learn from mistakes.
- Ability to debug, analyze, and troubleshoot problems quickly under pressure.
- Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
