About the Role
The OGP Applications Engineer plays a crucial role in providing technical support for customers and channel partners and promoting QVI's products. This position involves the creation of customer reports and the execution of product demonstrations to enhance the visibility of the company's offerings. The Applications Engineer is responsible for delivering customer and channel partner training, offering valuable insights and assistance. Furthermore, this role includes providing technical support to existing customers, and addressing inquiries and concerns promptly. The Applications Engineer also serves as the voice of the customer (VOC) by providing essential feedback to the hardware and software engineering teams, contributing to the continuous improvement of the company's products.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer requirements to determine the best hardware and software solutions based on supplied parts, drawings, budget, and other pertinent information, considering accuracy, repeatability, cost, environment, productivity, data analysis, and connectivity.
- Prepare detailed application studies showing measurement results on customer parts, including detailed gage repeatability and reproducibility studies in accordance with national quality standards and using industry standard statistical process control (SPC) methods.
- Demonstrate sophisticated coordinate measurement systems (manual, semi-automatic, or fully automatic, including optical comparators, video measuring systems, laser scanning systems, and multi-sensor measuring systems) for prospective customers.
- Participate in regional and national trade shows, including installation, set-up, dismantling of exhibits, equipment demonstrations, and networking.
- Conduct training sessions for customers covering system use, operation, programming concepts, and data analysis, which may be at the corporate facility or customer site.
- Provide after-sales support to customers via telephone and on-site visits to ensure maximum benefit from the equipment.
Requirements
- Four-year college degree in an engineering or quality related discipline, or a two-year degree in the same field with equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of blueprint reading, and dimensioning and tolerance standards (ASME Y14.5).
- Ability to work within a fast-paced, deadline-driven, multi-discipline environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows environment and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with quality reliability concepts or computer numerical control programming is helpful.
- Willingness to travel 25-50% of the time.
- Ability to sit for extended periods in an office setting and use standard computer equipment.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds unassisted, occasionally, when setting up trade shows.
- Preparedness for up to 25% travel, which may involve sitting for extended periods during transportation and navigating throughout travel locations.

- $63,000-$68,000 annually
