About the Role
The Sizewell C Jobs Service supports local people into exciting, long-term careers across our Project.
Responsibilities
- Manage a multi-skill level estimating team to develop cost planning and pricing for Alliance Services and Plant & Logistics.
- Feed into the Head of Estimating to ensure consistency in estimating approach.
- Produce auditable estimating documentation.
- Manage stakeholders to produce the Estimate.
- Present, negotiate, and justify prices to senior leaders and external customers.
- Undertake estimates in accordance with SZC policies and procedures.
- Review drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costing sheets.
- Oversee and interrogate design options and value solutions.
- Mentor and support junior team members.
- Record assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and support risk evaluation.
- Liaise with project team and supply chain to develop methodologies.
- Oversee and supervise the development or checking of pricing using Candy Estimating Software.
- Oversee and supervise the development or checking of bills of quantities using Cost X software.
- Record and track changes to the estimate/budget.
Requirements
- Evidence of right to work in the UK.
- Infrastructure Main Contractor background, ideally in the Civil engineering market.
- Commercial or operational background considered.
- Proficient in the use of Excel and similar software.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
