About the Role

As a Staff Data Scientist on the Growth Data Science (GDS) team, you will be a key liaison between advertiser objectives and the Moloco Ads product. This role is designed to address the need for a senior, technically proficient data scientist who can drive product activation with major advertisers and translate customer insights into product priorities. You will operate globally, establishing frameworks and feedback loops for the broader team. Your work will involve customer-facing data science and product strategy, collaborating daily with product, engineering, sales, and go-to-market teams to ensure effective product activation and to shape future product development based on advertiser needs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with top-tier advertisers to maximize value extraction from Moloco products, advising on campaign structure, measurement, bidding strategy, and optimization.
  • Translate account insights into product roadmap signals by providing structured feedback to product and go-to-market teams.
  • Establish the standard for GDS advertiser engagement, serving as a model for others.
  • Build and scale activation frameworks for regional GDS teams to ensure a repeatable and scalable model.
  • Act as a senior technical representative from GDS in product discussions, influencing roadmap decisions with advertiser insights and analytical rigor.
  • Systematically collect, synthesize, and communicate customer feedback and market signals to product and engineering teams.
  • Partner with product data scientists and engineering teams to define success metrics, design experiments, and evaluate new product features.
  • Translate complex advertiser problems into clear product requirements and value propositions.
  • Define and own the global GDS approach to product activation, creating frameworks, tools, and best practices.
  • Act as a thought leader within GDS, setting high standards for analytical rigor, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional influence.
  • Collaborate with AMER, EMEA, and APAC GDS teams to ensure consistency in product go-to-market strategies and customer insight surfacing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent practical experience).
  • 4+ years in data science, analytics, or a closely related quantitative field, with significant time in a customer-facing or product-facing individual contributor capacity.
  • Strong foundation in experimental design, hypothesis testing, regression, and causal inference methods.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL is required.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences up to C-level.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain credibility with cross-functional partners across product, engineering, sales, and go-to-market functions.
  • Proven ability to own projects end-to-end in ambiguous problem spaces, with a track record of driving them to measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated self-direction and senior-level judgment.
  • Comfortable operating without a playbook and building one where none exists.
