About the Role
We are seeking an experienced reporter to cover equity and debt transactions for large commercial properties in Australia, focusing on breaking news and exclusive stories. This role offers the opportunity to build a strong contact base and become a recognized name in the sector.
Responsibilities
- Report exclusives about listings, deals under contract, settlements, financing arrangements, and development projects.
- Write sophisticated analysis pieces on market trends and conduct interviews with senior industry leaders.
- Leverage relationships with agents, developers, and market professionals to generate exclusive news in the institutional investor space.
- Collaborate with senior journalists to produce exclusive CRE news and ensure daily content publication.
- Work with journalists across geographies on international deals, capital flows, and market trends.
Requirements
- 5+ years of reporting experience with a daily newspaper, online information service, or weekly publication.
- A proven track record of breaking major news stories.
- Business or property reporting experience is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of finance, banking, and private lending industries is a plus.
- Must be currently authorized to work in Australia without the need for visa sponsorship.
