About the Role
Florida Power & Light Company is seeking a development, environmental, land use and zoning attorney with a minimum of three years of experience, licensed in California, to assist with licensing and permitting for large infrastructure projects, particularly wind and solar projects. The role involves handling compliance and enforcement issues, focusing on renewable development projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist developers and environmental service experts throughout the licensing and permitting process for large infrastructure projects, particularly wind and solar projects.
- Handle compliance and enforcement issues for the company.
- Represent developers and builders at the local government, state and federal level for land use and zoning work.
- Engage in environmental legal work, including ESA, NEPA, Corps and other subjects.
- Represent clients in quasi-judicial hearings and administrative legal challenges.
- Appear before commissions for development and other approvals.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience.
- Licensed in California.
- Experience with CEQA, the CEC, and development in general in California.
- Background may include government, in-house, NGO or other relevant experience.
- Experience in administrative law.
- Experience representing clients in quasi-judicial hearings and administrative legal challenges.
- Experience appearing before commissions for development and other approvals.
