About the Role

The Laundry Attendant at Sonesta ES Suites SFO Oyster Point Waterfront is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel by performing all stages of linen processing, including collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, loading, and unloading laundry machinery, as well as ironing, folding, storing, and delivering linens. This role also involves maintaining the organization and sanitization of laundry machinery and the laundry area.

Responsibilities

Complies with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
Retrieves linen and towels from guest rooms, public spaces, and other areas of the hotel.
Sorts, loads, unloads, folds, and presses linen and other items according to hotel standards.
Operates washing, drying, and pressing equipment safely and according to instructions.
Maintains cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.
Inspects linen and towels for imperfections and reports deficiencies.
Communicates effectively with hotel departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
Maintains professionalism consistent with hotel and company expectations.
Secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys, and supplies.
Properly handles, labels, and stores cleaning supplies.
Assists with monthly linen inventory.
Ensures proper storage and security of the laundry area and supplies.
Maintains positive guest relations and provides excellent guest service.
Responds to guest requests and inquiries immediately.
Cleans and sanitizes laundry to be guest-ready and returns laundered items within specified timeframes.
Replenishes laundered items according to operational standards.
Reports any discrepancies or department needs to the Executive Housekeeper.
May assist in providing training to new or existing staff.
Performs other duties as required, including cross-training.

Requirements

Able to squat, kneel, twist, bend, and crouch.
Able to work in confined spaces with fluctuating temperatures.
Able to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals and follow all safety precautions.
Able to lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum weight of approximately 30-50lbs.
Able to stand/walk for long periods of time.
Ability to maintain effective and quality work performance consistently.
Possesses a thorough understanding of hotel regulations, operational processes, policies, and obligations.
Willingness and ability to function as an effective team member through good communication and cooperation.
Must demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Must be able to multi-task and handle pressure.
