About the Role

The IT Director oversees all aspects of the school's information technology infrastructure, systems, and services. This role assumes management responsibilities for the direction, coordination, integration, and implementation of technology across the school and departments, ensuring educational use of technology in compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact for outsourced IT vendor(s).
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance to coordinate the procurement process of IT assets.
  • Develop a plan for technology distribution and maintenance of IT assets.
  • Ensure all community members have access to high-quality, functioning technology.
  • Maintain a network-wide technology budget in collaboration with the Executive Director.
  • Manage the federal e-rate process to maximize federal funding allocations.
  • Lead and establish the network and schools in technology integration, ensuring student use of technologies in service to the curriculum.
  • Serve as a source of information on trends, research, applications, and effective practices related to technology use within the curriculum.
  • Organize and lead professional development, training, and meetings to support staff in using technology.
  • Develop and implement a network-wide strategic plan for utilizing technology to support and enhance teaching and learning.
  • Maintain hardware and software for all computer systems infrastructure, including server configuration and maintenance, software installation, and upgrades.
  • Manage copy, print, and fax machines.
  • Develop and maintain a system for technology equipment checkouts and check-ins.
  • Maintain an online system for technical support and services.
  • Maintain wireless and LAN connectivity for all users.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for all technical-related issues.
  • Track and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Develop systems to assist in the implementation of technology-based tools in the classroom.
  • Assist with professional development classes for teachers and students on technology-based tools.
  • Set up equipment for presentations/assemblies and oversee troubleshooting.
  • Manage VOIP phone system and internet connectivity.
  • Manage Interactive Board and projectors.

Requirements

  • Experience dealing with Student Information Systems or other Databases.
