About the Role
Cashiers provide fast, friendly, accurate, and safe customer service by processing transactions and maintaining the Self-Checkout area. They proactively seek product knowledge to identify selling opportunities and follow policies to minimize shrink. Head Cashiers support Cashiers by expediting price checks, approving transactions, and providing first-level escalation for customer issues. They also assist in supervising, coaching, and training other Front End Associates.
Responsibilities
- Process Checkout and/or Return transactions
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area
- Proactively seek product/project knowledge to provide customers with information and identify selling opportunities
- Follow all policies and procedures to ensure that shrink is minimized
- Expedite price checks
- Approve Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for various service areas
- Provide first level escalation for customer issues
- Assist in the supervision, coaching and training of other Front End Associates
- Participate in the training of new Cashiers
- Utilize all available tools to coach and develop other Cashiers
Requirements
- 1+ years of Cashier experience (preferred for Head Cashier)
