About the Role

Our team builds self-service tools and a platform that transforms ideas, text, and images into large-scale generated datasets. We empower ML engineers, data scientists, designers, and other teams across Apple to create data that fills real-world gaps, enables privacy-preserving training, and ensures product generalization. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on bridging technology and user needs, requiring strong engineering judgment and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate and tune new image or video generation models on GPUs.
  • Assist design teams in utilizing the platform for dataset generation.
  • Collaborate with feature teams on model ablations to assess synthetic data's impact.
  • Explain differences between synthetic and real data to partner teams.
  • Build features to close gaps identified between synthetic and real data.
  • Partner with ML engineers, data scientists, designers, and artists to make systems understandable.
  • Own features end-to-end, from shaping requests to validating results.
  • Shape the use of AI coding agents in daily software development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or 3 years of equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience building and operating production software in Python.
  • Experience debugging distributed systems or data pipelines in production using logs, metrics, and task state.
  • Experience deploying machine learning models on GPU infrastructure, including dependency management and GPU memory sizing.
  • Experience designing input validation and configuration contracts for systems where late failures are costly.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain machine learning concepts and tradeoffs to non-technical partners.
  • Proven, hands-on use of agentic AI coding tools in day-to-day software development.
