About the Role

The Director Network Operations leads the team responsible for operating and managing the network infrastructure that supports MSG Entertainment's facilities and venues. This role ensures the seamless execution of live events by collaborating with various technology and operations teams, managing network engineers, and overseeing technical support and infrastructure management.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors managed network devices and virtual machines, executing Level 1 Support including alert handling, incident triage, service restart/restoration, and escalation.
  • Ensures network engineering support is provided to Madison Square Garden Entertainment and Sphere Entertainment venues for all events.
  • Ensures standard operating procedures are in place for alert handling, incident triage, escalation, and network infrastructure/circuit deployment and decommissioning.
  • Maintains running configurations and diagrams of all WAN/LAN networks and generates technical documentation for required network changes.
  • Executes event and network status reporting in coordination with the Venue Technology and respective venue Technical Operations teams.
  • Works in close partnership with technical engineering teams and provides technical consultation to ensure successful system implementation.
  • Provides the network services that enable venue business applications and communication platforms, ensuring application/capability availability.
  • Installs network hardware and software.
  • Manages and maintains network infrastructure.
  • Utilizes network monitoring, analysis, and reporting tools.
  • Oversees day-to-day network operations.
  • Handles trouble ticket generation and response, including carrier interface and escalations.
  • Applies configuration changes via change control systems and processes.
  • Provides exceptional experiences for guests, partners, and team members, adhering to appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of enterprise network operations experience.
  • Experience managing geographically diverse teams of technologists.
  • 5 years of vendor management experience, including managing complex vendor engagements with large organizations.
  • 3 years' experience supporting large events and venues.
  • Hands-on experience deploying tool sets for monitoring and alerting across diverse platforms, including integration experience with event correlation platforms and ticketing systems like ServiceNow.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule in support of a 24/7 security environment, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and nontraditional work hours.
