About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Ansible Automation & Release Engineer with sound experience in the public sector for customer projects, starting immediately in permanent employment.
Responsibilities
- Conception, development, implementation, and further development of automation solutions based on Ansible
- Development and maintenance of Ansible Playbooks, roles, and reusable automation components for configuration, deployment, and operating processes
- Planning, control, and execution of build, deployment, and release processes in complex IT infrastructure environments
- Automation and standardization of deployment, configuration, and operating processes for Microsoft and Linux-based systems
- Development and optimization of standardized and reproducible provisioning and deployment processes, including rollback scenarios and operational handovers
- Use of PowerShell as a supplementary automation and scripting language, especially for Microsoft-based infrastructure components
- Administration and technical integration of Microsoft infrastructures, especially Windows Server, Active Directory, IAM, Microsoft SQL Server, SharePoint, and Exchange
- Support in the administration and integration of Linux systems and virtualized platforms based on VMware
- Analysis, evaluation, refactoring, and further development of existing scripts and automation solutions regarding maintainability, stability, reusability, and code quality
- Analysis and resolution of errors within automated build, deployment, configuration, and release processes
- Coordination and quality assurance of releases, as well as coordination with infrastructure, operations, development, and project teams
- Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, operating instructions, as well as automation and release documentation
- Processing and documentation of requirements, user stories, and tickets in Jira, as well as use of Confluence for technical documentation and knowledge management
Requirements
- Sound practical experience with Ansible for automating configuration, deployment, and operating processes
- Very good knowledge in the development and maintenance of Ansible Playbooks and roles
- Experience with Infrastructure/Configuration as Code and the standardization of IT infrastructures
- Sound experience in build, deployment, and release management
- Good knowledge of PowerShell for automating Microsoft-based infrastructure environments
- Good knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory, as well as experience with Linux systems
- Experience with VMware-based virtualization environments
- Good understanding of release, change, and configuration management processes
- Experience in error analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization of automation solutions
- Structured, independent, and quality-oriented way of working
- Experience with Jira and Confluence, as well as with IT projects in the public sector
- Native German or at least C1 German
