About the Role
Seeking a caring, experienced, and dedicated Lead Infant Teacher to create a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment where infants can thrive. Our center is NAEYC-accredited and Quality Stars NY accredited, offering high-quality early childhood education and a supportive workplace.
Responsibilities
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment for infants.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support each child's growth and learning.
- Build strong, positive relationships with children and their families.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom.
- Observe, document, and communicate children's developmental progress.
- Ensure compliance with New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regulations and center policies.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and administration to provide the highest quality care and education.
Requirements
- Applicants must meet one of the following: An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a directly related field; or A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential; or A formal written education plan leading toward the required qualifications.
- Experience working with infants in a licensed childcare or early childhood setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, dependable, and enthusiastic about working with young children.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, sit on the floor, and rise from the floor without adult assistance.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
