About the Role

MGT Insurance is seeking an Insurance Product Manager, Commercial Lines to lead product analytics and contribute to the commercial lines business. This role involves translating market insights into actionable product decisions and shaping the company's product strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product analytics function and play a central role in product strategy for commercial lines.
  • Translate competitor research and field feedback into actionable product decisions.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, engineering, and leadership to align on product direction.
  • Shape appetite, refine coverage features, and build product infrastructure for smarter underwriting at scale.
  • Use data and market insights to inform product decisions and influence business outcomes.
  • Monitor performance across classes and states, surfacing emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Drive product discovery, define requirements, and help drive roadmap prioritization.
  • Ensure product changes are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time.
  • Identify opportunities to launch new enhancements or endorsements on existing programs based on customer feedback.
  • Research form and rate options for coverage, analyzing market needs and competitor insights.
  • Present options internally to align on direction.
  • Draft necessary endorsements and rate plans.
  • Launch new coverage in production in an MVP form.
  • Build detailed requirements for post-MVP production release.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to prioritize post-MVP production releases.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in commercial insurance, or closely related product or analytics roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into product decisions that drive business outcomes.
  • Sound judgment under ambiguity and the ability to move quickly without sacrificing rigor.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders across distribution, technology, and compliance.
  • A strong interest in modernizing the small business insurance experience for brokers and their clients is a core requirement for this role.
  • A working knowledge of commercial P&C insurance regulations, including state rate and form requirements, is helpful but not required.
