About the Role
Milliken Flooring is seeking a Key Account Manager in Sydney, Australia, to drive sales and build strong relationships within the architectural and design community. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, managing key accounts, and promoting the Milliken brand to achieve revenue and growth targets.
Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed all assigned revenue and growth goals.
- Develop, plan, and execute sales and marketing strategies within assigned A&D accounts.
- Develop and maintain a detailed sales strategy for each client aimed at retention/expansion to gain targeted market share within specified segments.
- Promote the Company brand in the marketplace.
- Manage all aspects of day-to-day account management.
- Identify winnable projects and maintain a workable pipeline.
- Participate in industry events and networking.
Requirements
- Possess strong experience and knowledge of the architectural specifications process.
- Preferably possess knowledge of the building materials industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the local A&D industry.
- Capable of specifying and selling through the A&D segment.
- Experience in seeking and developing long-term business relationships.
- Evidence of strategic relationships with key decision makers in the territory.
- Ability to see the “big picture” by assessing, prioritizing, navigating and quickly adapting to complex situations in key projects.
- Strong listening and communication skills used to identify customer needs and encourage customers to specify and purchase Milliken flooring products.
- Ability to work flexible hours to strengthen key relationships and secure specifications on must-win projects.
- 5+ years’ direct industry sales experience.
- Well-developed communication and execution management skills.
- Must be a self-starter who can work effectively with limited supervision.
- Must possess very strong personal presence and interpersonal skills.
- Must be comfortable interacting with a wide variety of customers - from technical to non-technical.
- Strong understanding of the design process.
- Strengths in working on a team (constant communication, shared vision, singular goal for the market).
- Excellent communication skills, scripting presentations and public speaking.
- Strengths in planning, organization, time management, and attention to detail.
- Effectively utilizing technology: social media platforms, PowerPoint, CRM, etc.
