About the Role
Partners Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced (Senior) Legal Counsel, Data Privacy & Technology to join its Corporate Legal team. In this role, you will help shape the firm’s approach to data privacy and technology law across its global operations, with a particular focus on Europe and the GDPR. You will advise on compliance with data privacy regulations, support technology-related legal matters, and work closely with management and key stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks. The role offers broad exposure to strategically important, high-impact projects, as well as significant scope to take ownership and drive meaningful change.
Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic advisor to stakeholders on data privacy, AI, cybersecurity, and technology law.
- Drive and continuously improve GDPR compliance and related frameworks, identifying risks and proposing solutions.
- Lead the negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements, including privacy and data transfer provisions.
- Develop and evolve global data protection governance, including policies, procedures, and frameworks.
- Manage legal responses to data breaches and data subject requests.
- Create and deliver effective privacy training and awareness programs.
- Steer global privacy initiatives and serve as an internal subject matter expert.
- Manage external counsel and act as a liaison with regulators and public authorities.
Requirements
- Law degree and bar admission (Swiss bar admission is a plus).
- 4–10 years of relevant experience in international law firms or in-house roles.
- Experience in financial services and/or technology is preferred.
- Strong, hands-on knowledge of GDPR and privacy risk management in business settings.
- Proven ability in drafting/negotiating technology and commercial contracts, including privacy and data transfer provisions.
- Confident judgment under pressure, balancing legal risk, urgency, and business priorities.
- Clear communication skills to simplify complex topics and influence decisions.
- Organized, pragmatic, and improvement-minded approach.
- Fluent English; German language skills are an advantage.
