About the Role
The Vice President, Advanced Planning is a client-facing role serving as a financial planning and estate planning subject matter expert for Fidelity’s high net worth clients and their advisors. This role leads end-to-end financial and estate planning engagements using planning tools to deliver comprehensive client solutions, supported by an Advanced Planning Analyst. The team collaborates virtually and in-person to increase collective impact on clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end financial and estate planning engagements.
- Utilize eMoney and other planning tools to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
- Support advanced planning client engagements throughout a geographic region.
- Collaborate with the Advanced Planning team virtually and in-person.
- Coach and develop junior team members.
- Communicate complex subjects clearly and effectively.
- Build rapport and communicate effectively with clients and their advisors.
- Deliver planning solutions with a client-first mindset and practical approach.
- Manage competing priorities and balance multiple tasks while maintaining efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with preferred designations: CPA, JD, M.T., LLM in taxation, CFA or CFP®.
- 13-15 years overall work experience.
- 7+ years of trusts and estate planning, income tax planning or succession planning work experience within a public accounting, law practice, or wealth management industry environment.
- FINRA Series 7 and 66 obtained within 90 days of employment.
- Retirement, financial, investment, and insurance planning required.
- Estate Planning, family wealth transfer planning, wills/trusts, income taxation, and trust and estate taxation knowledge required.
- Ability to create and review financial plans using tools such as eMoney.
- Experience working with business owners, start-ups/Pre IPO companies is a plus.
- Proven ability to work independently and lead an assigned territory to drive high-net-worth client engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex subjects clearly and effectively.
- Strong emotional intelligence with a proven ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with clients and their advisors.
- Client-first mindset and practical approach to delivering planning solutions.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and balance multiple tasks while maintaining efficiency.
- Positive, professional demeanor and apply a thoughtful approach to achieving successful client outcomes.
- Reside within commuting distance to an Investor Center or Regional Center in TX, IL, MO, MN, TN or KY.
