About the Role
Working out of our Toronto office, this role is responsible for coordinating and executing the movement of freight across the globe according to customer needs. You will work directly with the International team, utilizing proprietary technology and learning the skills necessary to operate in the transportation industry.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor the transportation and movement of goods for export.
- Prepare shipping instructions and necessary legal documents for export, including bill of lading, Federal Drug Association, B13 ticket, certificate of origin, legalization, and fumigation.
- Communicate and coordinate with Sea freight carriers, co-loaders, intermodal departments, truckers, customs brokers, and other service providers.
- Resolve problems and provide ongoing support to internal and external customers.
- Enter all cost and sell rates upon file opening and prior to vessel departure to ensure file profitability and on-time billing.
- Monitor holds or discrepancies in the movement of goods.
- Proactively respond to service issues.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in international export procedures.
- Strong operational knowledge and analytical skills in the Operations field.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office and applications; ability/interest to learn new systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid understanding of quotes and the process of quoting.
- Familiar with incoterms and export declarations.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Written and verbal fluency in English/French.
- Outgoing personality, high energy, and flexibility.
- Great attitude and desire to work hard while having fun.
