About the Role

This 18-month Software Engineering Apprenticeship offers real-world work experience and leads to a Level 4 qualification. The program is designed to nurture future technical specialists and leaders, providing continuous training and development through a blend of external classroom learning and on-the-job experience.

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities for adopting new technologies to solve existing needs and predict future challenges.
Develop software applications as part of a Scrum team.
Learn technical skills, write code, conduct code reviews, and perform testing.
Partner with Product Managers, Senior Engineers, and Application Architects to conceptualize and build new products and prioritize features.
Engage in design work, such as user experience or graphic design.
Participate in social activities, charity days, and projects with other Apprentices, Summer Interns, and Graduates.

Requirements

A-Levels or equivalent (e.g., BTEC, T-Levels) with a Grade 5 or above, preferably in STEM subjects.
GCSE Maths & English with a Grade 5 or above.
Must not have studied Computer Science at Level 4 or achieved a Software Engineering Level 4 Diploma.
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United Kingdom is required; visa sponsorship will not be provided.
Must meet strict eligibility criteria for UK Government-funded apprenticeships.
