About the Role

The successful candidate will join the infrastructure team at QRT as a hands-on Lead within our Research Infrastructure Engineering team. This team is responsible for our cutting-edge high-performance trading and research infrastructure, including operating system platforms, software development tooling, high-performance computing, high-performance networking, and large-scale storage systems. The candidate will work directly with research and trading teams, focusing on Linux-based systems, workload scheduling, large-scale systems management, high-performance file systems, software design and lifecycle, and kernel/network performance tuning.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain operating system platforms, software development tooling, high-performance computing, high-performance networking, and large-scale storage systems.
Focus on Linux-based systems, including workload scheduling design and implementation.
Manage systems at large scale.
Design and operate high-performance file systems.
Manage software design and lifecycle (SDLC).
Perform kernel and network performance tuning for low-latency and high-throughput applications.
Implement instrumentation and telemetry collection.
Partner closely with research and other infrastructure engineering teams.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve high-complexity system issues.
Optimize system performance and reliability.
Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies.
Provide strategic insights to optimize infrastructure and operations.
Perform Proof of Concepts (POC) and present results.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in Linux systems administration and platform engineering.
Proven track record of technical leadership.
Deep knowledge of high-performance analysis, tuning, and optimization across Linux kernel tuning, hardware optimization, network performance, and storage performance.
Deep knowledge of DevOps tooling including Terraform/Ansible.
Demonstrated use of CI/CD technologies such as Gitlab and Jenkins.
Strong knowledge of Python, Golang, or similar programming and scripting languages.
Strong knowledge of Infrastructure metric visualization using Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Expertise with container technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
