About the Role
ADAM Audio is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer passionate about acoustics and audio reproduction to join their innovative team. This role involves creating cutting-edge audio products and contributing to the company's mission of delivering ground-breaking solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to define, prototype, and develop products from concept to market introduction and maintenance.
- Provide firmware code for hardware products, including evaluating new technologies and debugging prototype hardware.
- Ensure code is suitable for mass production and complies with the latest market regulations (CE, FCC, CRA, etc.).
- Shape the direction of embedded projects and be involved in their lifecycles.
- Refine product specifications, produce innovative designs and solutions, and engage with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Plan activities, estimate work, and collaborate to meet deadlines and product requirements.
- Work hands-on with functional prototypes and evaluation boards to debug and test electronic hardware designs.
- Own and help improve the approach to embedded software engineering, including best practices, processes, and tools.
- Share knowledge and practices with other companies across the Focusrite group.
Requirements
- Expert experience with micro-controllers and audio DSP.
- Mastery in low-level programming at ARM-based microcontrollers (STM32, NXP, etc.) and RTOS.
- Experience in C and modern C++ programming and common frameworks like Zephyr.
- Experience working with systems with hard real-time constraints.
- Mastery of test equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, bus analyzers, and audio analyzers (Audio Precision).
- Experience meeting compliance regulations and standards (CE, FCC, EMC, RED, LVD, etc.) for USB, wireless, and Ethernet connectivity, and battery-powered devices.
- Experience with common Bluetooth and RF SoCs like Qualcomm, Airoha, Bestec etc.
- Experience with networking protocols and chips/modules for Ethernet, WiFi, and BLE.
- Strong ability to analyze and present trade-offs between cost, quality, and development time.
- Hands-on problem-solving and debugging skills, including lab work (test equipment, soldering etc.).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Good English language skills (spoken and written).
- Ideally good German language skills.
- Familiarity with electronics and/or audio engineering.
