About the Role

Provide stimulating, effective teaching to international students preparing to study on undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes. Requires knowledge and experience in teaching English for Academic Purposes and Academic Research skills with an engaging and student-centred approach.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and review a range of learning activities that guide and support students to achieve and flourish.
  • Develop and update innovative teaching material that engages all students.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a range of different teams in order to continually improve the student experience.
  • Embrace innovations in teaching practice.

Requirements

  • CELTA qualified (or equivalent) is mandatory.
  • Experience of teaching to post 16 students.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work under pressure to deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • A strong commitment to continuous professional development and a proven track record of using this to enhance the student experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of using technology to inform teaching practice.
  • A Post Graduate qualification but strong first degree or relevant professional experience will be considered.
  • If teaching English language, then a DELTA or equivalent qualification.
  • Those with CELTA plus relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Must be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Must undertake an Enhanced Disclosure (including children’s barred list) via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Must complete a Prohibition from Teaching Check through the Teaching Regulation Agency.
  • Must not be barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
