About the Role
EMCOR Services Betlem is seeking an HVAC Design Engineer to provide engineering and design services for HVAC systems on design-build projects. This role involves energy analysis, construction document production, and technical support for company operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering and design services for hydronic and air-side HVAC systems for design-build projects.
- Produce construction documents for HVAC systems, including coordinating with trades and vendors, reviewing submittals, and performing field verification.
- Conduct energy analysis of existing buildings, develop energy efficiency measures, perform ASHRAE Level I and II energy audits, and conduct life cycle cost analysis.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, project management, and field supervisors to meet project schedules.
- Provide technical support for company operations, including troubleshooting systems and equipment.
- Review designs and layouts developed by other personnel.
- Develop proposals in cooperation with sales personnel.
- Travel locally to regional jobsites to assist with mechanical system design and documentation.
Requirements
- Knowledge of and ability to perform HVAC and energy engineering calculations.
- Ability to evaluate existing systems and equipment operation.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE guidelines and local NYS codes.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading for architectural and building trades.
- Knowledge of sheet metal and hydronic piping layout and fabrication.
- Knowledge of coordination with other building trades.
- Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit/BIM software and ability to apply industry standard drafting principles.
