Responsibilities

  • Manage the bank's exposure to clients by setting appropriate margining and risk limits.
  • Assist the business in developing risk-sound and client-attractive products/solutions.
  • Negotiate risk/margining terms with clients, balancing client needs with HSBC's requirements.

  • Make risk decisions considering potential loss severity against likelihood.
  • Independently make risk management/margining decisions, escalating to senior management as needed.
  • Operate within trading mandates and permitted instruments lists.
  • Proactively manage policy exceptions and collaborate with management, trading heads, and the independent risk function on change initiatives.

Requirements

  • Markets background with an understanding of measuring and managing market risk of derivatives across all asset classes.

  • Familiarity with the bank's risk (credit and/or market risk) and trading systems is a strong advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage relationships effectively with diverse stakeholders.
