About the Role
You will be the second data person dedicated to the US business, working alongside our Lead Data Engineer in the US and as part of the central Data team. This is an analytics engineering role where you will model data in dbt, build dashboards and data apps, and collaborate with business stakeholders to translate questions into analyses. You will own a business area end to end.
Responsibilities
- Partner with US GTM and implementation teams on the data side of a new client-facing program, defining data requirements, extract processes, and running repeatable analyses to demonstrate client impact.
- Build adoption, engagement, and cohort analysis on top of the per-product usage layer to provide validated statistics for the commercial team.
- Execute state regulatory reports and examiner follow-ups, and extend financial integrity checks across US salary and settlement data.
- Build and maintain US dashboards in StreamBI, replacing legacy reporting tools.
- Triage dbt and data quality alerts, answer questions in #ask-data, review PRs across dbt and StreamBI repos, and maintain documentation.
Requirements
- Two to four years in analytics engineering or a data analyst role with model and output ownership.
- Strong SQL skills, including the ability to reconcile numbers and prove they tie out.
- Hands-on dbt experience and the ability to read and extend a dimensional model without breaking its grain.
- Sufficient Python experience to build data apps in Streamlit, or a proven ability to quickly learn similar frameworks.
- Experience working directly with commercial or operational stakeholders to redefine ambiguous requests and deliver impactful analyses.
- Comfortable using agentic coding tools like Claude Code daily.
- Ability to operate independently within your timezone, define analyses, and push back on stakeholders when data does not support an ask.
- Experience producing outputs for regulators, auditors, or clients where accuracy is critical (nice to have).
- Exposure to payroll, HR tech, payments, or fintech data (nice to have).
