About the Role
Rio Controls & Hydraulics is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Service Technician for its Staten Island location. This role offers potential growth into a supervisor or management position within a supportive, small company environment with five national locations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, motivated, customer-oriented, and operate with integrity.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems and components.
- Read blueprints and diagrams to troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
- Perform preventative maintenance to avoid operational failures of hydraulic systems.
- Perform welding, metal fabrication, and electrical assembly.
- Provide drawing review and suggestions for hydraulic equipment repair.
- Disassemble and reassemble hydraulic components.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble hydraulic cylinders.
- Operate machinery such as drill presses, lathes, and grinders to modify parts.
Requirements
- Experience in fabrication and assembly/repair of hydraulic systems.
- Ability to effectively read hydraulic schematics.
- Experience with various hydraulic components, including service and troubleshooting.
- Experience with replacing seals and repairing hydraulic cylinders.
- Willingness to work non-standard hours in a non-climate-controlled environment, including onboard towboats, tugboats, and offshore supply vessels, 24/7/365.
