About the Role

You will take over the overarching management of large client accounts with multiple parallel IT and software development projects. You will be responsible for deadlines, budgets, resources, quality, and risks, and will provide technical leadership to project managers and project teams.

Responsibilities

Manage large client accounts with multiple parallel IT and software development projects, maintaining an overall view of deadlines, budgets, quality, and risks.
Manage and support project teams within your account, fostering their professional development within ongoing projects.
Implement effective risk management, ensuring risks, dependencies, and escalations are identified, assessed, and addressed early.
Create transparency through key figures, forecasts, status reports, and reliable decision-making bases.
Manage communication with clients at the management level and moderate steering committees and critical discussions.
Coordinate resources and competencies across projects and set clear priorities.
Intervene specifically in endangered projects, stabilize management, and then hand over operational responsibility back to the responsible project manager.
Accompany the handover of new projects from sales to delivery, refining scope, expectations, and calculations.
Further develop project management standards, methods, and best practices together with Delivery Excellence.

Requirements

Several years of experience in managing complex IT projects, programs, or large client accounts with multiple parallel projects.
In-depth experience in project controlling, budget and forecast management, as well as risk and escalation management.
Experience in the technical leadership and development of project managers and interdisciplinary teams.
Experience in managing demanding clients and interacting with management and decision-making levels.
Ability to quickly grasp critical projects, initiate appropriate measures, and stabilize them sustainably.
Solid understanding of software development projects, IT architectures, and modern development processes.
Entrepreneurial thinking and a good understanding of the economic context of IT projects.
Confident demeanor, strong communication and moderation skills, and high decision-making confidence.
Very good German language skills, written and spoken (min. C1 level).

Skills

Experience in the IT consulting, software development, or IT service environment.
Knowledge of Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Plane, Moco, or comparable tools.
Certifications such as IPMA, PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum, or comparable qualifications.
Experience with stabilizing critical or escalated IT projects.
