About the Role
We are building AI to predict clinical trial and drug development outcomes, and quantify the confidence in those predictions. As Co-founder & CTO, you will lead the development of our existing platform, the research program for prediction improvement, and the initial technical team, with the goal of spinning the company out of DSV.
Responsibilities
- Develop the platform, taking ownership of the existing system, setting technical priorities, and implementing improvements.
- Build the measurement program by defining prediction tasks, linking evidence to outcomes, and developing/comparing modeling approaches.
- Test predictive performance and calibration to identify system reliability.
- Prevent misleading evaluations by addressing leakage, label quality, and contamination.
- Hire the first technical team once funding is in place.
- Support fundraising by explaining the technical approach, evidence, limitations, and development plan to investors.
Requirements
- Must be hands-on now and intend to stay hands-on.
- Able to hold your own in discussions with researchers and investors.
- Ability to lead from the front as a founding seat.
- Can commit to full-time work from the spin-out.
- Experience in evaluation and benchmark design, including defining labels, checking reliability, and designing data splits.
- Strong applied statistics understanding, including calibration, confidence intervals, base rates, and limitations of small/noisy datasets.
- Breadth across modeling approaches (e.g., Hierarchical and Bayesian inference, classical statistics, graph learning, GNNs, PGMs, learned calibration).
- Experience with production LLM systems, including agent orchestration, tool integrations, context management, and evaluation systems.
- Hands-on technical leadership experience, including building systems and managing AI coding assistants/pipelines.
- Experience with careful interpretation of results, reporting uncertainty and limitations.
- Clear technical communication skills to explain and defend decisions.
- Able to go full-time from spin-out.
- Not currently building, or recently building, a company on the same substrate (agentic reasoning, knowledge graphs, hypothesis generation for drug discovery).
- Preferred: Experience with biological or clinical data.
- Preferred: Previous founding experience.
- Preferred: Research, software, or open-source work that can be reviewed.
- Preferred: Time at a frontier AI lab or top AI-for-science company.
- Preferred: Experience building evaluation or benchmarking infrastructure used by others.
