About the Role
As a Senior Analyst in the North American Financial Services Ratings group, you will be the primary analyst for assigned property/casualty (P/C) insurance and reinsurance companies. You will deliver independent credit opinions that inform issuers, investors, and market participants, driving consequential credit assessments in the insurance sector with direct visibility at the issuer C-suite level and influence across the broader market.
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the ratings process for assigned issuers, including quantitative analysis, issuer engagement, presenting in rating committees, and publishing well-supported credit opinions.
- Serve as an active voting member of rating committees, deliberating on rating outcomes and reviewing analytical materials prior to publication.
- Publish timely credit reports and contribute to sector research, market evaluations, and industry commentaries on emerging and complex insurance topics.
- Apply strong criteria knowledge and financial statement analysis skills to assess credit quality, remaining current on industry news and broader market developments.
- Collaborate with team members to share analytical insights, support peers, and align day-to-day work with broader team priorities and strategic goals.
- Engage professionally with issuers, investors, and other stakeholders to gather information, present findings, and address inquiries.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, business, insurance, or mathematics.
- Demonstrated experience in financial statement analysis, including GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
- Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Permanent work authorization for the United States is required.
- Fluent English (able to conduct meetings, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally).
- Experience in credit analysis and/or the insurance or reinsurance sector.
- Understanding of fixed income markets and related credit dynamics.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize effectively, and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Permanent work authorization for the United States is required.
- Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
- Candidates who reach the final stage of the interview process must attend at least one in-person interview.
