About the Role
The Clinical Educator acts as an integral member of the Program’s leadership team, providing educational support, coaching, and mentorship to members of the Rehabilitative & Transitional Services Program.
Responsibilities
- Promotes the design, implementation, and evaluation of orientation and other educational programs to support excellence in clinical practice and professional development of staff within the Program.
- Leads and supports quality care initiatives/improvement projects through collaboration with members of the Interprofessional team, and uses implementation and evaluation processes to foster best practice and enhance knowledge, skills, and professionalism of clinical staff.
- Supports the Patient Care Manager in the selection and appraisal of nursing, allied health, and clerical staff as requested.
- Provides mentorship and supports development of clinical leaders, charge nurses, and allied staff as required.
- Supports and fosters the mission, vision, and values of Trillium Health Partners through education, clinical practice, and research processes.
Requirements
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and in good standing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required with a minimum current enrollment in a Master’s degree program or plan to enroll within the year.
- Minimum five years clinical experience.
- 5 years’ experience working with complex medical issues and chronic disease management is required.
- Previous experience in developing and delivering educational programs.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills – both written and verbal.
- Understanding of adult education and change management techniques and ability to prepare and teach in both classroom and clinical settings.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and provide feedback while fostering a positive work culture.
- Strong critical thinking, decision making, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and quality improvement.
- Good project management and processes/skills.
