About the Role
This role is responsible for ensuring that insiders receive AIWI's guidance and support early, ideally through personal connections to network partners. It involves running a portfolio of outreach, education, and referral activities to ensure that every insider who might be able to raise concerns is aware of and has a trusted connection into AIWI's support network within 24 months. The position requires strategic, long-term thinking combined with pragmatic, rapid response work.
Responsibilities
- Run a portfolio of outreach, education, and referral activities to drive the goal of ensuring that every insider who might be able to raise concerns is aware of and has a trusted connection into the support network within 24 months.
- Direct and indirect outreach: Build and manage a portfolio of channels to deliver high-quality educational material in various formats to frontier AI company employees.
- Network build-up and management: Map, prioritize, and uncover opportunities for delivering education and building connections, maintaining live intelligence solutions.
- Journalist network and offerings: Build and maintain relationships with reporters, develop offerings that make it natural for journalists to loop in support for sources.
- Explore alternative intake channels: Explore referral pathways into the support network, such as via employment attorneys.
- Partner enablement: Work closely with network partners on joint content, campaigns, and events.
- Team and budget: Hire, manage, and grow the Growth & Education Delivery team, utilizing a significant budget.
- Enabling work: Discover and prioritize barriers/education needs and target audiences; set delivery goals; campaign strategy; measure against goals.
Requirements
- Scaled relevant high- and low-touch growth motions in complex environments.
- Built and grown multiple communities, audiences, customer bases, ideally serving an audience that heavily overlaps with AIWI's.
- Relentlessly resourceful and motivated by challenges, capable of overcoming obstacles.
- Comfortable with "thinking big" and building systems for outreach, including network and spending management, and team recruitment/management.
- Experimentation-driven approach: Think in hypotheses, ship tests quickly, measure honestly, and drop what doesn't work.
- Ability to build a strategy from a blank page, form a view on biggest wins, and turn it into a concrete portfolio of activities.
- Strong track record of independent project management, including recruiting and managing collaborators, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Deep care for AI safety and a strong conviction for AI going well.
- Strong communication skills, capable of writing briefings, op-eds, landing pages, and difficult 1:1 messages.
- A relevant, trusted network is a plus (among AI company employees, journalists, and/or the AI safety and governance community).
- Backgrounds likely to be suitable include: Developer Relations lead, Growth-side founder or early growth hire, Political or advocacy field/relational organizing director, Technical recruiter, Sales or marketing leader from a mission-driven organization.

- USD 150,000 - 250,000
