About the Role

Business Directors are key to leading client accounts and overseeing campaign delivery, serving as a primary contact for senior clients. Success is measured by delivering exceptional work, ensuring client satisfaction, motivating internal teams, achieving profitable revenue, and driving account growth. This role involves developing and leading teams through strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction throughout the campaign lifecycle.
  • Develop a deep understanding of clients' industries, company cultures, and products/services.
  • Support the team in delivering an exceptional client experience during all agency interactions.
  • Identify opportunities to exceed client expectations and elevate client relationships to trusted partner status.
  • Clearly define and manage client expectations regarding status updates and milestone reviews.
  • Assist in managing overall client satisfaction, identifying and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Maintain the Deliverables Register, ensuring all deliverable scores are recorded and communicated.
  • Ensure team members feel invested in, engaged, cared for, and motivated.
  • Provide timely and actionable feedback to the team to support their development.
  • Foster a positive and supportive day-to-day work environment on the account.
  • Contribute proactively to the company culture, including mentoring individuals.
  • Provide recognition for successful work and achievements.
  • Engage with clients to define Actionable Briefs for tier 1 campaigns and oversee tier 2 and 3 briefs.
  • Critically evaluate work and client deliverables for tier 1 briefs to ensure they exceed expectations.
  • Provide campaign and project management leadership to ensure on-time, on-brief delivery.
  • Promote collaboration with Practices to deliver best-in-class work and drive innovation.
  • Proactively identify and escalate potential risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Lead daily huddles and weekly client status meetings, assembling the appropriate team members.
  • Provide accurate monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecast figures in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Assist in managing client budgets against set objectives.
  • Solicit regular client feedback to ensure operational excellence and identify areas for improvement.
  • Calculate the workload implications of new campaigns for resource management.
  • Identify and nurture organic growth opportunities within existing client accounts.
  • Potentially line manage 1-3 direct reports, supporting their career growth.
  • Lead by example, motivating and coaching junior team members.
  • Foster an environment of transparency and open communication.
  • Take ownership and direct others as needed within the account team, delegating effectively.
  • Oversee the wider team structure and organogram.

Requirements

  • Proven and demonstrable experience at an Account Director+ role in a media agency.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills, with great attention to detail and the ability to quality-assure work.
  • Solid grasp of all areas of digital marketing, including deep knowledge of digital media.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and project manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Superb client relationship and management skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively for innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented, responsive, deadline-driven with strong quantitative reasoning skills.
  • Strong financial management skills, including managing campaigns to budget and margin forecasts, and identifying financial risks.
  • Requires individuals to have the right to work in the UK.
