About the Role
Dive is developing a cloud-native, agent-native simulation platform to make advanced heat and fluid simulation accessible to mechanical engineers. As a Backend Engineer, you will build the core systems, develop Python services, orchestrate simulation workflows, and create interfaces for product, engineering services, and AI agents. You will collaborate with various engineering teams to transform complex simulation technology into a scalable product.
Responsibilities
- Develop and extend Python web services with a focus on efficient and robust business logic.
- Build durable workflows using Temporal to orchestrate and manage complex processes.
- Contribute to the design of flexible, maintainable, and performant software architectures.
- Enable AI agent usage of the software.
Requirements
- Possess a degree in computer science, applied science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Approach complex technical challenges with critical thinking and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Experience developing Python applications or services.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Some experience with APIs and service-to-service communication (e.g., REST).
- Prioritize work effectively and build reliable, maintainable solutions.
- Fluent in English.
