About the Role
As an Integration Technician, you will install and configure operating room integration systems, interpreting project documents, installing equipment, and verifying system configurations with hospital networks. This role involves significant travel and is safety-sensitive.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure operating room integration systems.
- Interpret project documents including Proposals, Port Maps, Wiring Diagrams, and Infrastructure Drawings.
- Use hand tools to install equipment and terminate cables.
- Use test equipment to ensure systems are installed and energized correctly.
- Verify final system configuration with hospital networks.
- Travel to various installation sites across the country via company vehicle or air travel.
- Provide verbal and written progress reports to the installation leader/project manager.
- Perform administrative duties including checklists, Siebel entry, expense reporting, and time entry.
- Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor when working with customers, contractors, management, and fellow employees.
- Utilize customer protocols and abide by all STERIS and Customer Health & Safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of recent installation of cable/audio visual/electronics experience or Associate's degree in Electronics or similar degree, plus 1+ year(s) of related experience.
- Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent knowledge of personal computers, video technology, video cabling, and networking.
- Excellent interpersonal and Customer communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in computers and Windows software.
- Flexibility to handle multiple and changing priorities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, sometimes outside “normal business hours”.
- Must have valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Project management experience (Preferred).
- Biomed/Hospital IT experience (Preferred).
