About the Role

The Development Coordinator assists the Director of Development in all fundraising activities, including annual funds, events, planned giving, and capital campaigns. This role involves working with volunteers and coordinating office operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Development with the design, implementation, management, and evaluation of all fundraising activities including events, annual giving, planned giving, endowment and capital campaigns, alumni giving, special projects, and other school-related solicitations.
  • Assist with the facilitation of the annual Gala, Christmas Bazaar and Alumni events.
  • Schedule and maintain communication with speakers, auctioneers, vendors and volunteers.
  • Monitor event timelines and verify that event is within parameters.
  • Create and maintain office systems to support all Development projects and operations.
  • Oversee the coordination of parent volunteer recruitment and appreciation activities.
  • Assist the Director of Development with the creation of public relations materials/brochures to support annual giving, planned giving, alumni giving programs, and donor recognition, as well as publications for events (i.e. programs, brochures, advertisements, etc.).
  • Organize and participate in meetings with volunteers.
  • Arrange food and beverage, order supplies and events signage.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and coordinating financial reports to the Board of Trustees.
  • Oversee communication and promotional plans for annual school events.
  • Maintain and update the development links on the school’s website as needed.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable for the Development Office.
  • Manage online fundraising and auction software.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations for determination of success.
  • Assist Director of Development as needed.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Business or associated field or High School Diploma with 3 years minimum experience.
  • Prior experience in event planning or fundraising preferred.
  • Knowledge of event planning, public relations and marketing principles and practices.
  • Excellent computer application skills.
  • Great organizational skills; ability to prioritize, multi-task projects with equal priority and anticipate work.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Able to direct and manage others.
  • Ability to respond to sensitive matters and/or situations with discretion, tact, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and oral communications.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Analytical skills and aptitude for problem solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, focus vision, handle or feel.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear.
