About the Role
MGT Insurance is seeking a Senior Product Manager to drive quality results and expand datasets in tight coordination with the Insurance product team. This role involves owning and delivering the vendor stack, quality, hit rate, and telemetry, and requires end-to-end execution across strategy, data, design, and engineering.
Responsibilities
- Manage the vendor portfolio, including cost, hit rate, quality, latency, and contract terms.
- Onboard new vendors, run bake-offs, and renegotiate or terminate underperformers.
- Instrument every vendor call end to end.
- Build a monitoring agent to track hit rate, drift, outages, and quality regressions.
- Stay current on AI web search and retrieval options and determine the best fit for different entity types.
- Determine which new signals improve loss ratio, bind rate, or underwriting speed and sequence them.
- Make build-vs-rent decisions and defend unit economics.
Requirements
- Shipped meaningful work with an AI engineering tool (Claude Code, Codex, Devin, etc.) and can show commits.
- 5+ years of experience at a firm that achieved scale, ideally InsureTech, FinTech, or Consulting.
- Build things directly; ship end-to-end.
- Experience running a data or API vendor stack, owning third-party data integrations, measuring quality, and making decisions on adding or removing vendors.
- Engineering background with experience writing code.
- Experience in growth stage companies.
- References from peer department managers (Engineering, Data, Underwriting) that loved working with you.
