About the Role

The Expert Applications Architect will design and analyze software projects, create conceptual approach documents for strategic business initiatives, and document system architecture best practices. This role collaborates with partner teams, enterprise architecture, and development teams on best practices and guidelines, while also evangelizing technology transformation initiatives. The position provides expertise and direction to leadership on strategic projects and design, and offers high-level estimates for business case creation.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex systems analysis and solution design on software applications.
  • Performs coordination, creation, and socialization of the conceptual approach document for new business initiatives.
  • Collaborates with enterprise architecture and development teams to ensure strategy alignment and utilize common components.
  • Acts as an expert technical mentor to development teams and business users.
  • Understands normal business constraints and develops creative solutions within these frameworks.
  • Participates and leads in code reviews to identify errors and improve software quality.
  • Assists with deep technical problem determination during system outages and works with operational teams on resolution.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of technical/functional design experience related to application implementation and software development.
  • 5+ years of experience with software design/development resulting in strong knowledge of application frameworks.
  • Expert level technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design, and implementation.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise platform solutions, including platform architecture, deployment, operations, automation, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience architecting and integrating enterprise applications using APIs, service-oriented architectures, and shared platform services.
  • Experience with content management and document management platforms; experience with Alfresco or similar enterprise content management solutions preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, cloud architecture, networking, and platform services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead solution design from architecture and technical design through implementation, deployment, and operational support.
  • Experience developing architectural standards, solution roadmaps, deployment topologies, and enterprise platform strategies.
  • Ability to balance deep technical expertise with a broad platform-oriented mindset across multiple business domains and technology platforms.
  • Experience collaborating with application development, platform engineering, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable enterprise solutions.
  • Understanding of platform adoption, onboarding, change management, and strategies that enable successful consumption of enterprise services and platforms.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, cloud operations, and modern application delivery models.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) platforms and services, and the ability to evaluate their application within enterprise technology environments.
  • Expert level knowledge in Object Oriented Design.
  • Experience with Agile Development and working with offshore teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills including conceptual, logical, and physical diagrams.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Dental Insurance/Healthcare industry.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship (including CPT, OPT, TN or H‑1B).
