Conduct thorough inspections of housing units and properties enrolled in the Project-Based Voucher Program, ensuring compliance with program requirements, local building codes, and safety standards. This role involves performing annual inspections and communicating findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of housing units and properties enrolled in the Project-Based Voucher Program, ensuring compliance with program requirements, local building codes, and safety standards.
  • Perform annual inspections as assigned by the Inspections Supervisor or the Inspections Department site staff.
  • Communicate inspection findings and recommendations clearly and professionally to property owners, tenants, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HUD regulations, local ordinances, and industry best practices related to housing inspection and quality assurance.
  • Attend meetings with the Inspections Supervisor and team members to discuss inspection strategies, performance metrics, and program updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 1 year of experience performing housing-related inspections or fieldwork.
  • Demonstrated expertise in interpreting and applying HUD regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using inspection software and other technology tools or the ability to learn within 90 days of hire.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
