About the Role
Zello is seeking a Security Engineer to join their team. This role involves building automation to scale security operations, focusing on AI security reviewers, vulnerability triage, and supply chain security. You will split your time between operational tasks and building new security solutions.
Responsibilities
- Take turns on interrupt duty, including findings triage, access questions, incidents, and customer security assessments.
- Tune the AI security reviewer and triage agents, determining which calls require human ownership.
- Build the intake pipeline to route findings from various sources (AI reviewer, bug bounty, pen tests, audits) to owning teams with defined SLAs.
- Lead the Google Cloud hardening project, focusing on IAM, org policy, and workload configuration.
- Select and implement code scanning and supply chain controls in GitHub and CI/CD.
- Ensure engineers can act on scanner findings.
- Review code and designs related to authorization, identity, and tenancy.
- Push fixes through Platform, Web, and Backend teams.
- Write runbooks and requirements to enable team members to execute security processes independently.
Requirements
- Experience building and shipping security automation in code.
- Experience applying LLMs or agents to real security work.
- Ability to read application code and identify exploitable authorization, identity, or secrets flaws.
- Experience rolling out security scanning in CI and translating results into fixes.
- Experience securing IAM and workloads in a major cloud environment (GCP preferred, AWS or Azure acceptable).
- Ability to get fixes shipped by teams not directly managed.
- Engineers describe working with you as straightforward.
- Ability to learn fast and adapt to changing needs, moving between incident and build modes.
