About the Role
Heimgart is a growing D2C and B2B brand for microgreen growing kits and seed pads in the DACH region. We bring fresh greens to our customers' windowsills and kitchens – sustainably, thoughtfully, and with a love for the product. The Eastside Impex Handelsgesellschaft mbH is behind the brand. Production takes place in Berlin: our seed pads are made in a workshop for people with disabilities, which also assembles our kits. Our fulfillment partner acut in Berlin handles shipping and warehousing. Our online shop and merchandise management run on JTL.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the supply chain runs smoothly from raw materials to ready-to-ship kits in the warehouse.
- Act as the link between suppliers, the workshop, logistics, and the team, ensuring correct quantities are in the right place at the right time.
- Assist in sales and customer service during colleagues' absences.
- Manage demand planning and reordering of all components (seeds, fleece, porcelain, packaging, printing) based on JTL inventory data and sales forecasts.
- Oversee the partner workshop: production orders for seed pads and kit assembly, material provision, on-site deadline and quality control.
- Coordinate deliveries to our fulfillment partner acut, reconcile goods receipts, and align inventory between the workshop, warehouse, and JTL.
- Maintain supplier relationships, negotiate prices and deadlines, and develop secondary suppliers for critical individual parts.
- Process invoices and forward them to accounting; maintain our procurement CRM (Notion).
- Contribute to packaging, product data, and compliance topics (e.g., product data sheets, GPSR, documentation for the organic control body).
- Learn B2B order processing (inquiry → quote → order → delivery) and B2C 2nd-level support.
- Provide full support during absences and assist with order peaks, returns, and goodwill cases during regular operations.
- Incorporate feedback from customer contact and warehouse operations into product and process improvements.
Requirements
- Commercial or logistics apprenticeship (e.g., industrial clerk, wholesale and foreign trade, freight forwarding) or comparable qualification.
- Initial professional experience in purchasing, dispatching, production planning, or e-commerce operations.
- Ability to think in terms of quantities, deadlines, and inventory, and maintain an overview even with many small items.
- Enjoy direct contact with people – with our workshop team as well as with suppliers and customers.
- Experience with inclusive work contexts is a plus, but not a requirement.
- Proficient use of merchandise management systems (ideally JTL) and spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with Notion or similar tools.
- Native-level German (C2) in speaking and writing.
- Good English is an advantage.
- Reside in or around Berlin to be regularly on-site at the workshop and logistics partner.
- Driver's license required.
- A personal car would be an advantage (and is subsidized), but is not a must.
- Structured, self-reliant way of working, hands-on mentality, and affinity for sustainable products.
