About the Role

This position is responsible for food and beverage preparation, sales, and service, along with operational and inventory tasks under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Food and Beverage. Success is measured by a friendly demeanor, knowledgeable direction, and the ability to create great experiences for guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, exhibiting and encouraging GCT’s values and beliefs.
  • Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous customer service.
  • Offer information on products, options, ingredients, specials, and preparation times.
  • Address customer product and service needs, requests, and concerns promptly.
  • Consistently maintain and replenish supplies in service areas.
  • Ensure service areas are kept clean at all times, correcting deviations from GCT standards.
  • Train and assist new personnel in delivering optimal service, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Comply with GCT uniform requirements at all times.
  • Uphold and demonstrate safety rules and standards as designated by the F&B Department.
  • Adhere to Smart Serve and Alcohol and Gaming Commission regulations.
  • Prepare, serve, and sell hot and cold food items including sandwiches, hot dogs, snacks, and baked goods.
  • Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.
  • Consistently maintain supplies and inventory to meet service levels.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Pick up, count, and verify floats daily.
  • Complete all assigned tasks on prep, usage, and cleaning sheets.
  • Assist in counting opening inventories and verifying new supplies.
  • Wash, sanitize, and store small wares in designated locations.
  • Clean and sanitize counters, condiment tables, and equipment at the end of the shift.
  • Store all supplies in a secured area.
  • Prepare and count deposits and reconcile variances at the end of the shift.
  • Assist in counting closing inventories and completing waste sheets.
  • Complete and submit all required closing round documentation.
  • Set up service areas, condiment tables, and check equipment, ensuring all areas are cleaned and sanitized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to deal professionally and courteously with customers.
  • Thorough understanding of methods, machinery, techniques, and sanitation practices for concession food and alcoholic beverage preparation and service.
  • Working knowledge of cash register and tendering procedures.
  • Proven accuracy in performing basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written).
  • Basic knowledge of alcoholic beverages.
  • Working knowledge of Safe Food Handling Procedures and Health and Safety Practices is an asset.
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining Smart Serve certification.
