About the Role

Cedar is improving the healthcare financial experience. Our technology improves the overall patient billing and engagement experience, enabling healthcare providers to thrive in a constantly evolving environment while helping patients understand the cost of their care. Cedar is looking for a Group Lead Product Manager to lead our Patient Data Platform team. This role co-owns the data foundation, including the normalized data model, transformation pipelines, integration standards, and data exchange patterns that turn raw data feeds into clean, trustworthy patient accounting records that power Cedar's product portfolio. This is one of the most impactful and technically challenging roles at Cedar, requiring deep expertise in health system data generation and exchange to shape how downstream products and AI-powered agents consume data.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Patient Data Platform from strategy through execution, identifying gaps, defining solutions, and driving delivery.
  • Engage directly with clients and EHR partners to understand upstream data workflows and translate them into platform requirements.
  • Work internally across product engineering, integrations, payments, and communications teams, and externally with clients and EHR partners to drive integration standards.
  • Define and evolve Cedar's normalized data across providers, including data governance standards for quality tracking, lineage, and contract definitions.
  • Own the multi-quarter roadmap for the Patient Data Platform, balancing foundational investments with near-term delivery.
  • Co-own data and architecture decisions with senior technical leaders, translating product requirements into technical constraints and vice versa.
  • Establish data quality frameworks to ensure reliable, accurate data SLAs for go-lives.
  • Define and track platform health and adoption metrics, using data to inform prioritization and demonstrate platform ROI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, co-founder, or related technical role
  • At least 3 years of experience building and shipping technical products that manage data pipelines, data models, or integration platforms
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders at large enterprises
  • Track record of shipping products that deliver measurable results, ideally platform products that unblock multiple downstream product teams
  • Strong knowledge of data exchanges and integration patterns for major EHR players (e.g., Epic, athena, Cerner)
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Skills

  • Technical background (CS degree, former engineer, or deep comfort reading system design docs and data model ERDs)
  • Healthcare RCM knowledge - understanding of guarantors, patient responsibility, insurance adjudication, EOBs, and the billing lifecycle
  • Experience establishing data governance frameworks and driving alignment across engineering, operations, and client stakeholders
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, gRPC) and how data flows through ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Experience leading platform migrations — moving product functionality from legacy systems to modern service-oriented architectures while maintaining production reliability
  • Familiarity with HIPAA data isolation requirements in multi-tenant healthcare platforms
