About the Role

Supporting 8000 individuals as participants of the Angel Tree program, this role will assist full-time Salvation Army team members and volunteers with the verification, organization, and distribution of Angel Tree donations, packaged into bags for individuals to receive from our warehouse. Angel tree bags contain various donated items (toys, books, clothes) requested by members of our community to provide a positive holiday experience for their families.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in carrying and organizing products up to 25lbs to assist with warehouse organization.
  • Checking bags, filling missing bags, unloading bags from trucks.
  • Assists individuals with adopting Angels as part of the Christmas Angel Tree Program.
  • Provides information and answers questions regarding adoption of Angels.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records related to the Angel Tree adoption and gift process.
  • Provides prompt and courteous service to all individuals.

Requirements

  • Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
  • This position requires crouching, kneeling, lifting, and pushing carts.
  • Applicants must have excellent customer service abilities, professionalism, and a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail with constant breaks in concentration associated with answering questions or speaking to individuals requiring assistance.
  • Ability to perform all duties with an understanding of the mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, and protocol of The Salvation Army; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.
  • Duties require walking, standing, lifting and carrying.
  • Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
